Read this slowly!

"America's abundance was created not by public sacrifices to 'the common good,' but by the productive genius of free men who pursued their own personal interests and the making of their own private fortunes. They did not starve the people to pay for America's industrialization. They gave the people better jobs, higher wages and cheaper goods with every new machine they invented, with every scientific discovery or technological advance -- and thus the whole country was moving forward and profiting, not suffering, every step of the way." [Ayn Rand]
okay so is going to have a good day had a good outlook on the day but of course the state has to mess everything up. It seems if you attend York technical College in York county And graduate and then decide later to change your major and want to receive financial aid you have to wait three years. Why would the state not allow someone the chance to go to college if no jobs are available in their chosen field? If your family and yourself pays taxes keeps the college running and is supported in the community why can't the community be supportive to the individual?

I wonder cynical letters out and make some phone calls to find out just what is going on with this county. And if I get anywhere how well at it to the blog. Have a nice day.

I am fine.

A farmer named Clyde had a car accident. In court, the trucking company's fancy hot shot lawyer was questioning Clyde. "Didn't you say, at the scene of the accident, 'I'm fine,'?" asked the lawyer.

Clyde responded, "Well, I'll tell you what happened. I had just loaded my favorite cow, Bessie, into the..."

"I didn't ask for any details", the lawyer interrupted. "Just answer the question. Did you not say, at the scene of the accident, 'I'm fine!'?"

Clyde said, "Well, I had just got Bessie into the trailer and I was driving down the road...."

The lawyer interrupted again and said, "Your Honor, I am trying to establish the fact that, at the scene of the accident, this man told the Highway Patrolman on the scene that he was just fine. Now several weeks after the accident he is trying to sue my client. I believe he is a fraud. Please tell him to simply answer the question."

By this time, the Judge was fairly interested in Clyde 's answer and said to the lawyer, "I'd like to hear what he has to say about his favorite cow, Bessie".

Clyde thanked the Judge and proceeded. "Well as I was saying, I had just loaded Bessie, my favorite cow, into the trailer and was driving her down the highway when this huge semi-truck and trailer ran the stop sign and smacked my truck right in the side. I was thrown into one ditch and Bessie was thrown into the other. I was hurting, real bad and didn't want to move.

However, I could hear old Bessie moaning and groaning. I knew she was in terrible shape just by her groans. Shortly after the accident a Highway Patrolman came on the scene. He could hear Bessie moaning and groaning so he went over to her. After he looked at her, and saw her condition, he took out his gun and shot her between the eyes.

Then the Patrolman came across the road, gun still in hand, looked at me, and said, "How are you feeling?"

"Now what the hell would you say?"

Make the best of every day!

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting.

Well, for example, the other day my wife and I went into town and went into a shop. We were only in there for about 5 minutes. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. We went up to him and said, 'Come on man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?'

He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. I called him a Nazi turd. He glared at me and started Writing another ticket for having worn tires. So my wife called him a ****-head. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

Personally, we didn't care. We came into town by bus and the car had an Obama sticker. We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired. It's important at our age.

A sign of the times?

Just when you have lost faith in human kindness, someone who teaches at Pine Street Elementary in Spartanburg , SC forwarded the following letter.

The letter was sent to the Principal's office after the school had sponsored a luncheon for the elderly. An old lady received a new radio at the lunch as a door prize and was writing to say "thank you". This story is a credit to all humankind. Forward to anyone you know who might need a lift today.

Dear Pine Street Elementary:

God bless you for the beautiful radio I won at your recent senior citizens luncheon. I am 84 years old and live at the Rosecrest Retirement Home. All of my family has passed away. I am all alone now and it's nice to know that someone is thinking of me. God bless you for your kindness to an old forgotten lady.

My roommate is 95 and has always had her own radio, but before I received one, she would never let me listen to hers, even when she was napping. The other day her radio fell off the nightstand and broke into a lot of pieces. It was awful and she was in tears. Her distress over the broken radio touched me and I knew this was God's way of answering my prayers.

She asked if she could listen to mine, and I told her to kiss my ass.

Thank you for that opportunity.

Sincerely,

Agnes Baker

I do not understand!

Well hopefully I'll have more than one fall were in the future. I put a quick comment and twitter today about why big mega-churches always charge hundreds of dollars from her seminars conferences which overlooks most of the congregation. Then attended a church in Charlotte who has a very tan is charismatic leader who truly teaches the word God and I enjoy going to the church a lot. One thing that bothers me is as it gets bigger it seemed that you have to have money, lots of money, to enjoy the benefits that the Church has offered. Yes they have small groups so you can worship and study the Bible with friends in your area. Lately every time they have an offer of 101 study with the pastor and his senior staff, or with a special speaker, or other methods of bringing the word of God to you, it seems you have to have hundreds of dollars to do so.

Now I understand sacrifice is part of worshiping God. But I do not believe this means that those of us who work very hard for a living are overlooked when the special occasions occur. I've made a couple of attempts to have correspondence with the senior pastor but it seems you have to go through channels even talk to the pastor. This is always been a problem for me attending organized church. Got in the overlooking one, God let no one out of the loop, got spent most of his time with the folks on the street the folks that we did one associate with the folks that needed his help the most.

Since I have been diagnosed with ALS this year this has really bothered me more than ever. The church I attend has been very helpful when I am at the service. They take care of me and make sure all of my needs are met. However no one has called my family or my self, no one has called to see if we need any financial help, spiritual help, or anything at all. I see this as a trend when churches get too large. The middle to lower income member of the church tends to get overlooked. I have grown tired of changing churches try to find sincere loving and true believers in God. Believers who exhibit their faith by their actions.

I know this is going to cause some problems with folks, just as I know I have a lot to learn and a lot of things wrong in my walk with God. You're human, we all make mistakes, so I understand that churches and pastors make mistakes. But if you're in a position to teach toward God you must lead by example. No information from the church should be hidden from the congregation the public. I believe the congregation should have complete say of what occurs at the church. Anyway, these are my thoughts for now, more to come later today.

Healing scriptures!

Exodus 23:25 "So you shall serve (worship) the Lord your God and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you." NOTE - True worship from the heart is a key to walking in divine health. It brings forth humility of heart and opens the door for His life to flow. Close every door to the devil that you are aware of. Take time each day to worship and love on God from your heart.

Well I've ignored this long enough!

I decided to do this blog several months ago, since then I've completely ignored it. Some of it is my fault for being lazy, some can be contributed to being diagnosed with ALS in February of this year. It takes some time to accept the diagnosis and to begin living again. Was quite a shock to me as well as all the members of my family. This blog may not make some sense at times, as I'm getting used to using voice recognition software for my Mac book called MacSpeech. It has really helped since I cannot use my hands to type anymore but it has been a challenge getting used to it. It is amazing what you can do with the computer nowadays when you have a Disability.

I have found it difficult to become dependent on others for everyday activity. When you're the breadwinner of the family and everyone depends on you for everything, it is a huge change to have all of them taking care of you. you really find out just how special your friends and family are and who you can count on when you have this happen to you. You also find out who your friends are and this is surprising because some folks who you thought were not very close friends of the first ones to jump in and help out. This is been a real blessing as many people are helping Nancy and the children to care of me and she needs the help that she works very hard during the day and must work just as hard at night to help me to everything. She stays very tired but she never complains and always offers to help without being asked. I am very fortunate to have such a loving wife and my closest friend.

Hopefully some people start following this blog, and I'll make a commitment to release make one or two entries a week into this blog, as I will share my experiences dealing with ALS on a daily basis. For now I'm going to stop gather my thoughts and make additional entries later this evening or first thing Tuesday morning. Hope all of you have a great day.
